RX: Strip Mall 200mg

Washington, D.C.

Originally designed to ease traffic congestion, strip malls now serve as a solution to modern health issues. By transforming these ubiquitous spaces, we propose a wellness-focused reimagining that encourages slowing down, promoting mental and physical health. Targeting health issues like asthma, mental distress, and physical inactivity, the redesign features kiosks, pavilions, and outdoor spaces in parking modules, with a water-harvesting ribbon tying everything together. With over 68,000 strip malls in the U.S., this scalable solution has widespread potential.
